About the Project

An internal application developed to optimize the management of the company gym. With a simple and intuitive interface, it allows employees to easily book slots for open sessions or group classes.

Problem

Although not essential, the gym generated significant administrative costs and management overhead. Management tasked me with implementing a booking system to streamline operations and improve the user experience.

Proposed Solution

• Secure authentication: initial login via LDAP, later enhanced with the company’s Passport SSO for a seamless experience.
• Booking management: reserve open slots or group classes.
• Waitlist: automatic enrollment on a waitlist when a class is full.
• Class and session administration: create and modify classes and their schedules.
• User permissions management: assign and update access rights.
• Member tracking: full management of member status (annual registration fee, medical certificate validity, insurance, active status, group class subscriptions).
• Notifications: automated emails to confirm bookings or notify of availability.

Technical Challenges

This project marked several firsts in my journey:

Full-Stack Development

I designed and deployed a complete application independently: database, backend, server, and user interface. This was my first full-stack developer experience at Laboratoires Gilbert.

Authentication

Initial implementation of secure LDAP login, followed by integration of Passport SSO to provide two transparent authentication methods.

Deep Learning of Laravel and Vue.js

This project was the opportunity to truly master these technologies, moving from theory to operational implementation.
