About this experience

Softadmin is an IT company covering development, networking and support. I work there as a full stack developer: I take on the projects clients bring us, from initial scoping to production, whether it is a website, a mobile app or a SaaS product.

I am also the company's AI referent. Anything related to artificial intelligence goes through me: picking and integrating models, designing complete solutions built around AI, building tooling that automates our own development workflows, and keeping up with the field. I am also the one who drove AI into the company and into our development processes.

In practice the role goes beyond AI. Less than two weeks after I joined, people were already coming to me with the technical or hard-to-implement topics, and that has not changed since. I take the opportunity to tidy up what can be tidied up along the way.

Main responsibilities

End-to-end client solutions

• Scoping the need with the client, then designing the application architecture
• Full stack development with AdonisJS, Inertia, React and PostgreSQL
• Mobile development with React Native and Expo, alongside web administration interfaces
• Production rollout, monitoring and iterations based on feedback

AI and technical referent

• Introduced AI into the company and into its development processes
• Designed and built a conversational assistant combining a RAG pipeline with a business database
• Goal met: business teams can query their own data directly, without depending on a developer
• Internal tooling to automate part of the development workflow
• Ongoing technical watch and decision-making on AI topics for the whole company
• Go-to person on technical or complex subjects, AI or not

Mobile app and back office for sport shooting

• Application dedicated to sport shooting practice, currently under development
• First version already delivered for testing and approved by the client
• iOS/Android mobile app paired with a web administration interface
• A social network extension is being scoped, primarily aimed at the US market

Documentation portal

• Portal built to solve the client's main problem: navigating a large document corpus
• Synchronisation script that updates the portal as soon as a source document (.docx) changes

Road accident automation

• Automatic processing of accident reports on high-traffic roads
• Direct feed into the reference tool used in that field
• Lightweight web app for law enforcement, designed for speed of use: reporting an accident and calling the right tow truck

Summary

This role puts me across the whole chain: I take in a client need, turn it into an architecture, build both web and mobile, and see it through to production.

The referent role adds a consulting and design dimension: spotting where AI genuinely adds value, building the solution, and equipping the team rather than simply plugging in a model. And beyond AI, being the person people come to for whatever is technical or awkward to put in place.
